Breast surgery is not just limited to breast enhancement. There are several types of different breast surgeries that can change the look and shape of the breast depending on what each individual is looking for. Sometimes a person will think that they need to have a breast augmentation to reshape their breasts but what they really need is a breast lift. Other people are born with very large breasts and need a breast reduction to improve their health and stop the pain of the heavy and large breasts.
The most common types of breast surgery are breast augmentation or implant, breast lift, breast reduction, breast implant removal and breast capsulectomy. Breast augmentations or implants are silicone or saline implants that are surgically implanted into the breast to make them larger, firmer and fuller usually by one or two cup sizes. Breast implant removal surgery is surgery that is done to remove the breast implant if the patient wants to get new larger implants or to have them completely removed. Breast lift surgery is a surgery that does not involve an implant but is done to lift and firm sagging breasts. Breast reduction surgery is surgery that is done to reduce the size of the chest and improve the shape of the breasts. Breast capsulectomy surgery is performed when scar tissue around the implant becomes hard and can be uncomfortable. At the time of capsulectomy, the implants can be exchanged for new ones.
